Can anyone help me find the song that belongs to these few lines?

I'll come crawling in a driving rain
I'll keep searching 'til I go insane
I heard it some time ago & jotted down the lines I remembered - they may or may not be in order. It was sung by a man, sounded almost rock/country - although I don't like country music, so it was more rock sounding.
I'm usually proficient with Internet searches but strangely I found nothing on this.
I just heard this song again the other night - the lyrics are correct and in order. However, I did discover it is a classic rock song. I still haven't figured out who sings it, though.
